40 Years? 40 Days

1 min read

Jubilees 3:9: After forty days had come to an end for Adam in the land where he had been created, we [the angels] brought him into the Garden of Eden to work and keep it.

Jubilees 3:10: His wife they brought [there] on the eightieth day. After this she entered the Garden of Eden.

Jubilees 3:12: ...For this reason a commandment was written in the heavenly tablets for the one who gives birth: if she bears a male, she shall remain in her uncleanness seven days... and thirty-three days [totaling 40]... and if she bears a female child... she shall remain eighty days.

The Legal Distinction

The Verse (3:9-10): Establishes that the timing is a literal reenactment of the First Family's entry into the Sanctuary. Adam's 40 days and Eve's 80 days were the "blueprint" for all human birth that would follow.

The Jurisdiction (3:12): Explicitly states that this protocol exists because "the Garden of Eden is holier than all the earth

sides".
